Our Museum’s Mission
Clarksburg History Museum was founded in 2018 and we have been growing and expanding our offerings ever since. Each day, our reputation grows, and with it our ability to offer exciting temporary exhibitions and events for our History Museum. We’re passionate about educating our community and passing on an appreciation for Art, History, and Culture. It is our mission to ensure that visiting Clarksburg History Museum is an enriching, exciting and educational experience.
The Birthplace of Thomas J. Jackson
Stonewall Jackson was born in Clarksburg, Virginia (now WV), on January 21, 1824.

We are located on the first floor of the Harrison County Board of Education building at 455 W. Main St. Clarksburg, WV. Our staff works day and night in order to make sure that your experience at Clarksburg History Museum is the best it can be. That is why we are always coming up with new events and exciting exhibitions. We care so much about our Art, History, and Culture, but we need the support of donations in order to keep offering the best experience for the public and our local school tours.
